As every January 16, San Bartolomé de Pinares celebrates “Las Luminarias” in honor of San Antonio Abad, patron saint of animals. The festival consists of the propagation of large bonfires through which the “bartolos” ride cross the bonfires with their horses in order to purify their beasts. And for the saint to greet them and give them deprive of diseases throughout the year. .
